Training on gender concepts and SOGIESC

Phnom Penh City: On February 27 and 28, 2024, funded by Fri through Save the Children Cambodia, CRC-Cambodia conducted training on gender concepts and SOGIESC for 26 CSO members, with the aim of:
  1. To improve the knowledge of participants (CSO partners) on the gender and SOGIESC concepts and develop the participant’s ability to critically analyze the challenges related to SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression) within family and community settings and facilitation methodologies to lead the training of others.
  2. To support CSOs and NGOs in integrating SOGIESC into their partners’ strategic plans, policies, and guidelines
  3. Develop a joint advocacy plan between CSOs involved in promoting the rights of children with diverse SOGIESC rights to create more impactful advocacy towards key ministries and the Cambodia Human Rights Committee (CHRC) as part of engagement in the UNCRC and UPR processes.
The workshop provides CSO members with a deeper understanding of gender concepts and SOGIESC; develops a joint advocacy plan between CSOs involved in promoting the rights of children with diverse SOGIESC rights to create more impactful advocacy toward key ministries; and provides a list to support CSOs and NGOs in integrating SOGIESC into their partners’ strategic plans, policies, and guidelines.

4) Discuss and develop the advocacy strategy and risk mitigation.
