HOW WE START

Our History

The NGO Committee on the Rights of the Child (NGOCRC) established in September 1994 by nine (9) elected NGO Members, NGOCRC endeavors to raise awareness of the Convention on the Rights of the Child among children, their parents, and all relevant institutions. It dedicates its efforts and resources to the efficient and effective implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) by advocating for child rights (letter 001.1999, 16 July 1999).

1994

The NGO Committee on the Rights of the Child (NGOCRC) got the official letter from Ministry of Interior (MoI) on 15 August 2002 (letter 837 N., related to the delay of Official Register due to the delay of law on associations and non-governmental organizations (LANGO).

2002

The NGO Committee on the Rights of the Child (NGOCRC) is official change the name to Child Rights Coalition Cambodia (CRC-Cambodia) on 16 March 2018 (letter no 1016) with 51 members (35 national and 15 international).

2018-2020

CRC-Cambodia’s membership is open to national and international NGOs that focus on child rights issues. As of February July 2023, there are a total of 60-member organizations, including 38 national NGOs and 22 international NGOs. In view of the member strengths and diversity, there are five TWGs formed to coordinate joint activity:

  1. Civil Rights and Freedoms
  2. Family Environment and Alternative Care
  3. Disability, Basic Health, and Welfare
  4. Education, Leisure, and Cultural Activities
  5. Special Protection Measures
