Adolescent and Youth Reference Group

In 2015, the Adolescent and Youth Reference Group (AYRG) was established by UNICEF and composed of adolescents and youth aged 15–25 years old, nominated by various non-governmental organizations (NGOs). From 2017 until present, UNICEF handed the coordination role with AYRG to the Child Rights Coalition Cambodia (CRC-Cambodia). AYRG was created purposely to raise the voice and opinions of adolescents to prevent and respond to violence against adolescents by engaging in policy dialogues and program development, supporting the development of the Action Plan for the Prevention and Response to Violence Against Children in Cambodia, and reporting back the progress and results of technical working group meetings or events to their full group.

The vision of the AYRG is “All adolescents enjoy their rights to their full potential prior to joining adulthood”.

The mission of the AYRG is “To unpack taboos and improve social accountability to fulfill adolescent rights through educating and advocating the voice and opinions of adolescents and participating in policy dialogue”
