Happy International Children's Day 2024

On May 30, 2024, the Child Rights Coalition Cambodia (CRC-Cambodia) collaborated with the Cambodia National Council for Children (CNCC) and other key ministries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of International Children’s Day and the 23rd anniversary of World Day Against Child Labor at Koh Pich. The event was a significant gathering, with 3,320 participants, including many children, government officials, civil society representatives, and international partners.

During the celebration, CRC-Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to the rights of the child, particularly the right to participate and be heard by policymakers and the government, as emphasized in Article 12 of the UNCRC. This commitment is pivotal for monitoring the situation of children’s rights and ensuring their voices are included in policy discussions and decisions. Additionally, CRC-Cambodia highlighted the importance of ongoing advocacy efforts and collaboration with key stakeholders to address child labor and enhance child protection mechanisms.

The event also served as a platform to showcase various child-focused initiatives and programs, and to discuss strategies for improving children’s welfare in Cambodia. By engaging with a broad spectrum of participants, CRC-Cambodia and its partners aimed to strengthen the collective effort towards safeguarding children’s rights and promoting their well-being.
